So I bought a blu-ray enabled HP PC. It played them alright; in some cases it would upgrade the player as new movies needed it.
Then this week I popped in ROCKNROLLA & the drive would just keep reading & eventually fail to read the medium.
Looking around I find that the drive I have - GBW-HL20 can be upgraded to HD-DVD support with new f/w. So I figure it might solve the rocknrolla problem as well, & it does! The drive now calls itself a GGW-HL20.
I'd actually sent the 1st copy of rocknrolla back thinking it was defective. The oil-puddle like rainbow interference pattern on the disc was much less distinctive. When the second copy Netflix shipped looked the same I began to wonder if the drive was not programmed to read a certain type of physical layering.
Oh well. So now I have an HD-DVD drive!:)
